Arsenal have been urged to make a move for Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola as the Premier League champions continue their search for attacking reinforcements ahead of the new season.
Former Arsenal defender Mikael Silvestre believes the France international would be an ideal addition to Mikel Arteta's squad, with changes expected on the left side of the Gunners' attack.
Silvestre backs Barcola to Arsenal transfer
Arsenal have already allowed Leandro Trossard to join Turkish side Besiktas, while Gabriel Martinelli has been linked with a possible exit as the club looks to reshape its forward line.
Silvestre believes Barcola has the quality and potential to strengthen Arsenal as they look to defend their Premier League title and challenge for Champions League glory.
"That would be an obvious choice for both the player and the club," Silvestre told GOAL.
"For Bradley, considering what he's done with PSG, what he's done with the national team and the stage of his career, while looking at what Arsenal are trying to build, it's a green light from me, 100%."
Barcola enjoyed another impressive campaign with PSG and featured for France at the FIFA World Cup alongside Kylian Mbappe and Michael Olise.
Although he played a key role in PSG's recent success, the 23-year-old faces stiff competition for a starting place from Desire Doue, Ousmane Dembele and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
Arsenal also linked with Alvarez transfer
Arsenal are not alone in monitoring Barcola, with Liverpool and Manchester United also reportedly interested in the French winger.
The Gunners are also considering a move for Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez, who has been valued at around £120 million.
Silvestre believes the Argentina international would also be an outstanding signing.
"Below Messi for Argentina, he's the player that has been the most impactful," he said.
"What performances he's shown this season. He would be a great signing."
Any major arrivals could depend on further departures from the Emirates Stadium, with Martinelli and Gabriel Jesus among the players reportedly attracting interest.
Arsenal begin the defence of their Premier League title at home to newly promoted Coventry City on 21 August and will hope to strengthen their squad before the transfer window closes.
