Stefanos Tsitsipas returned to the winner's circle on Sunday by defeating Raphael Collignon to lift the Swiss Open title and end a 16-month wait for ATP silverware.

The Greek star battled past the Belgian 6-4, 6-7 (7-3), 6-3 in Gstaad to secure the 13th ATP Tour title of his career and his first since triumphing in Dubai in March 2025.

The victory also marks his sixth ATP title on clay, adding to a collection that includes three Monte Carlo Masters crowns.

Tsitsipas delighted to end trophy drought

After sealing the win, Tsitsipas admitted the success carried extra significance following a lengthy spell without a title.

"I would like to start by mentioning how amazing the final was today," he said.

"It's been a long time so it does mean a lot to me."

The result is also set to boost the 27-year-old's position in the ATP rankings, with Tsitsipas expected to climb from world No. 85 to No. 55.

Strong Tsitsipas serving proves decisive

Tsitsipas produced an assured display behind his serve throughout the final, firing four aces without committing a double fault.

He also won 21 of his 29 points behind his second serve and successfully defended two of the four break points he faced.

For Collignon, the defeat came in his maiden ATP Tour final. The 24-year-old Belgian, currently ranked No. 42 in the world, pushed Tsitsipas all the way before falling short in the deciding set.
