Senegal's bid to overturn the decision that stripped them of their Africa Cup of Nations title will be heard by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) on October 8.
The appeal stems from the controversial events during Senegal's clash with Morocco in Rabat on January 18, when the Senegalese players walked off the pitch in protest after a potentially decisive penalty was awarded to the hosts.
Although Senegal returned to the field 14 minutes later and went on to win the match 1-0, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) later ruled that the fixture had been forfeited, awarding Morocco a 3-0 victory instead.

CAF's Appeal Board confirmed the revised result in March, a decision that effectively stripped Senegal of the continental title.
The ruling sparked widespread criticism in Senegal, with the country's government calling for an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the decision.
The Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) subsequently lodged an appeal with CAS in an effort to have the original result reinstated.
Senegal's CAS hearing set for October
CAS confirmed on Friday that the hearing will take place on October 8 at its headquarters in Lausanne, Switzerland.
According to the court, neither CAF nor the Royal Moroccan Football Federation requested an expedited process, meaning the case will follow the standard timetable.
The hearing will be conducted behind closed doors after both parties declined to make the proceedings public.
CAS also confirmed that no verdict will be delivered on the day of the hearing, with the panel set to begin its deliberations once proceedings conclude.
"After the âhearing, the panel will start âits â deliberations. At this stage, CAS cannot state when a final decision will be rendered â , but âit will not be âon the day of the hearing," the statement from CAS read.
A final decision will be announced at a later date.
